EU envoy discusses defence cooperation with Army chief

European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller and Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman on Sunday discussed ways to strengthen defence cooperation between the two sides.

The discussion took place when an EU delegation, led by the ambassador, paid a courtesy call on General Waker at Army Headquarters in Dhaka, according to a post on the Bangladesh Army’s verified Facebook page.

During the meeting, they exchanged greetings, the post added.

They also discussed exploring the potential for developing indigenous defence industry in Bangladesh with European assistance. 

The EU ambassador highly appreciated Bangladesh Army's contribution to maintaining law and order under present context.
