Eight crude bomb exploded in Gopalganj, one arrested

At least eight crude bombs were detonated at different locations in Gopalganj Sadar upazila after approximately 7:15pm on Wednesday evening.

Explosions occurred in a garden behind Ghosherchar Government Primary School; two on the Dhaka–Khulna highway in the Mandartala area; one on the road beside Binapani School; one behind Majhigati No. 10 Polli NK High School; one on the road next to Raghunathpur Primary School; one on the paved road in front of 116 No. Shaheed Mahbub Government Primary School and one in front of Chilna Goyadhana School in Tungipara upazila.

An army team detained one suspect in connection with the incidents. The arrestees identified as Jisan Molla (24), son of Khaled Molla from Purbo Para village under Borashi union in Sadar upazila.

Confirming the matter, Gopalgonj's Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) said, "A special combing operation by the joint forces is still underway and legal proceedings were ongoing. Further details of the operation will be disclosed later."
