Bangladesh will take action if push-in incidents occur: Foreign Minister
Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman stated on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, that Bangladesh will take necessary measures if any "push-in" incidents occur following the political shift in West Bengal.
Speaking after a meeting with a visiting U.S. delegation, he noted that while India will decide on the Teesta Water Sharing Treaty under West Bengal's new administration, Bangladesh remains committed to its Teesta Mega Project involving China.
The Minister also confirmed that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is expected to visit either China or India this coming June to strengthen regional cooperation and bilateral ties.
