A year after uprising, defeated force apparently employing conspiracies: CA
Even though a year has not passed since the July uprising, the defeated fascist force is showing signs of hatching a conspiracy chancing upon the fraying unity among uprising’s forces, said Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus at a meeting with political parties on Wednesday.
Thirteen political parties attended the meeting, a day after four parties joined a similar meeting with the chief adviser at state guesthouse Jamuna in the capital, to discuss the state of national unity amid worsening law and order situation.
The government has intended to project national unity against fascism through a slew of uprising anniversary programmes, the chief adviser said at Wednesday’s meeting.
However, the fascist Awami League members are exploiting the apparent rivalry and disagreements surfacing between the once united forces of the uprising, Prof Yunus said.
The Nobel Laureate urged the anti-fascist political parties to make their inherent unity more visible, despite the disagreements and rivalry among them.
Attendants of the meeting expressed support for maintaining political and national unity against fascism.
They also called on the chief adviser to adopt a stricter approach in controlling the law and order situation. The expressed full support for the government’s three agendas: state reforms, justice against the Awami League fascists, and credible general elections.
They requested the interim government chief to hold regular dialogues with political parties for taking adequate election preparations and reinforcing the fight against fascism.
