President urges global unity for peace in Eid message

President Mohammed Shahabuddin on Saturday called for global unity to support helpless people and stressed the need for ending war, conflict and vengeance to establish peace and stability everywhere.

"As human beings, it is our moral responsibility to stand united beside the helpless people. We hope for a permanent end to war, conflict and vengeance and the establishment of peace and stability everywhere. Eid teaches us that very lesson,” he said while addressing the nation on the occasion of Eid - Ul fitr.

He also extended his heartfelt greetings and congratulations to the people of Bangladesh and Muslims around the world on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

In the message to the nation, the President said Eid-ul-Fitr is the most significant religious festival for Muslims and is celebrated with great joy after a month of fasting, devotion, and self-restraint during Ramadan.

He prayed to Almighty Allah so that the immense joy of Eid spreads to every home across Bangladesh and among all people.

The President said Islam is a religion of peace and welfare, and its values of humanity, equality, peaceful coexistence, and compassion are highly significant in today’s global context.

He noted that this year’s Eid is being celebrated at a time when many parts of the world are witnessing bloodshed of innocent children, women and civilians due to unwanted conflicts and wars, putting humanity in crisis and creating adverse impacts everywhere.

Highlighting the social spirit of the festival, the President said Eid is also a unique celebration of social harmony where people, regardless of wealth or status, join together in festivities.

He prayed to Almighty Allah for the peace, happiness and prosperity of Bangladesh, the Muslim Ummah and all people of the world.

“May Almighty Allah help us all,” the President added.
