The weather office has forecast rain, thunderstorms and gusty winds in at least 10 regions of the country, including the capital Dhaka.

The affected areas may experience rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour until 1:00pm on Tuesday.

River ports in these regions have been advised to hoist warning signal No. 1. However, temperatures in Dhaka may rise slightly during this period. The information was provided in two separate weather bulletins issued by the Storm Warning Centre of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department.

According to the inland river port forecast issued from 5:00am to 1:00pm, the regions of Rangpur, Dinajpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Bogura, Tangail, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Cumilla and Sylhet may experience temporary rain or thundershowers along with gusty winds blowing from the west or northwest at speeds of 45 to 60 kilometres per hour. River ports in these areas have been advised to remain alert.

In another forecast for Dhaka and adjoining areas, the Met Office said light rain or thundershowers may occur temporarily in the capital during the six-hour period beginning at 7:00am on Tuesday. The sky may remain partly cloudy to temporarily cloudy during this time.
