The Bangladesh Nationalist Party-led alliance is likely to win about 208 seats in the upcoming 13th parliamentary election, while the Jamaat-e-Islami-led bloc is projected to secure 46 seats, according to a public opinion survey.
Meanwhile, the Jatiya Party may win three seats, other parties four seats and independent candidates 17 seats.
The findings of the survey conducted between 18 and 31 January by the Eminence Associates for Social Development (EASD) were unveiled at the Krishibid Institution Bangladesh in the capital on Monday afternoon.
Presenting the survey results, EASD Chief Executive Officer Md Shamim Hayder Talukder said there were 41,500 respondents in the survey. Of them, 26,560 (64%) were men and 14,922 (36%) were women.
Among the participants, 37.2% were aged between 18 and 30, and 45.2% were aged 31-50.
The largest group of respondents in the survey was businesspeople, accounting for 21.9%, while students accounted for 14.5%.
